Unlike other electric vehicles in this category the HX™ is fitted with adaptive rear drums and hydraulic front disc brakes for optimum stopping power. Upon selecting reverse a buzzer sounds and the tyre center is fitted with a horn. Both Hummer HX driver and passengers seats are fitted with 3 point approved seat belts, LED technology is used for side lights, driving beam, high beam, turn signal, brakes, rear fog and reversing lights.

Additional convertible features include: Each of them carry the "clipped circle" design motif found through the vehicle. The HX was shown with a slant-back configuration, wearing a desert-inspired matte olive paint scheme, at the North American International Auto Show. The off-road mode features of the instrument panel comprise the virtual tools of the HX, while others are mounted for physical use, including a folding shovel, flashlight, and first-aid kit.

Classic Hummer design cues make the HX instantly recognizable, like the round headlamps situated in square housings, an upright windshield profile, minimal overhangs, hood vents and prominent air intakes. The air intakes are functional and feed a V-6 engine under the hood, while the hood vents are active – they articulate allowing hot underhood air to escape.

The V6 engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2021 Hummer HX is powered with a 3.6-liter, direct-injection V-6 from the Cadillac CTS, which produces 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The 2008 HX show car was smaller than the H2 and H3 models. The HX has shared body frame design with other Hummers, 2021 HX front and rear independent suspensions, four-wheel disc brakes and all-wheel drive.

Three designers, recent graduates of College for Creative Studies have been a new comer to General Motors, Robert Jablonski, Kang Min-young, a South Korea native, and David Rojas, a native of Peru, participated in the development of the Hummer HX.

The trunk seats are removed allowing access to the luggage compartment. Three designers, graduates of the College of Creative Research, which is new to General Motors, Robert Jablonski, South Korean-born Kang Min-young, and Peruvian-born David Rojas were active in the development of the Hummer HX 2021 model. The Hummer 2021 HX has four seats, the 2nd row has a couple of bucket-type seats. The console has a section for phones and MP3 players that don't have a regular radio, only built-in speakers and a connector for digital players or similar devices.

The goal of the HX concept car project was to potentially market a Hummer-branded vehicle in the smaller-sized and 2021 HX lower priced SUV market segments. The HX was shown with a slant-back configuration, wearing a desert-inspired matte olive paint scheme, and featured removable doors with exposed hinge pins and removable composite fender flares which are attached with quarter-turn quick-release fasteners. Development of the vehicle, dubbed H4, began in 2004 and the newest model was to be Jeep Wrangler sized.

The design of the HX was driven by input from three young designers who were new to GM and the Hummer design studio. As part of their "initiation," they were charged with developing concept drawings for a smaller, youthful Hummer. The HX concept is dependant on one of many designers'original illustrations but incorporates the most effective ideas and elements from another designs. Inside and out, the HX posesses purposeful aesthetic that, from initial sketches to finalized clay models, was refined in mere six months.

The giant aluminum instrument panel mounted on an open sleeper features removable storage and re-adjustable LCD displays with a number of information when the vehicle is on or off the road. A shovel is installed on the leading passenger seat; there is a flashlight and a medical kit alongside the driver. Inside, Hummer HX, the guts console is a recognizable feature that incorporates a variable, giant handle and a giant arm that seems like an aircraft cockpit. The four seats have a helicopter theme: thin and light and designed to look good once the doors are removed.

The Hummer HX hasn't been produced through GM, but MEV has acquired exclusive rights to the Hummer HX brand. Hummer will also produce the Hummer HXT, a gentler version of the 2021 Hummer HX MEV. The MEV produces the Hummer HX as a tiny electric vehicle with similar proportions to the first HX concept, but it's much smaller and designed as a bobbleheadwater vehicle or perhaps a golf cart. It works on the 72V drive system, powers an AC-free motor, and delivers 60+ miles and a maximum speed of 19mph.

And as the headlamps and grille are clearly Hummer cues, they've evolved on the HX with a "chopped circle" motif. The grille slots and headlamps, along with elements on the inner, have the appearance of circles or ovals which have been clipped towards the top and bottom, creating a unique appearance that speaks to the vehicle's purposeful aesthetic.

Four-wheel-disc brakes provide confident stopping power. The brand new engines may also be utilized in the next-generation Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon and Hummer H3/H3T, which are due for the 2012 model year. If the automobile ever adopts production, a 2.4L four-cylinder FlexFuel engine along with both a 2.4L and 3.6L straight gasoline engine would be available as well. Motivation for the HX comes from an E85 FlexFuel 3.6L SIDI V-6 that's backed by way of a six-speed automatic transmission. The transmission is teamed with the 4WD system to offer exceptional low-speed traction and crawling capability.
